In these Terms & Conditions: “Workshop”, “we”, “us”, “our” means the The Inspection Bay. “Customer”, “you”, “your” means the person or company requesting our services. “Services” means all vehicle inspection, servicing, repairs, and related work performed by us. “VicRoads” refers to the Department of Transport and Planning (VicRoads), the regulatory authority for roadworthy inspections in Victoria.
Acceptance of Terms
By leaving your vehicle with us, requesting our services, or signing any job authorisation, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Estimates and Authorisation
All prices are estimates unless stated otherwise. No work will be carried out without your authorisation. If additional repairs are required, we will contact you for approval before proceeding.
Payment Terms
Payment in full is required upon completion of services, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept EFTPOS, credit card, bank transfer and cash. Vehicles will not be released until full payment has been received.
Storage and Uncollected Vehicles
Vehicles not collected within 3 business days of notification of completion may incur a storage fee of $30 per day. If uncollected after 30 days, we may take action under the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (VIC) to recover costs.
Warranty and Liability
We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorised work by others. Parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only.
Roadworthy Inspections (VicRoads)
We are a VicRoads Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) and must comply with VicRoads regulations. You must provide accurate vehicle details, registration information, and your valid Victorian driver’s licence. We are legally required to retain inspection records and may disclose information to VicRoads as part of our licensing obligations. The outcome of an inspection (pass or fail) cannot be changed or influenced and is final as recorded.
Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing correct and current personal, licence, and vehicle details.
- Ensuring the vehicle is safe to operate and free of personal belongings.
- Following all advice and repair recommendations relating to vehicle safety and compliance.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of income, inconvenience, or downtime. Our total liability is limited to the cost of the service performed, unless otherwise required by law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
